I dug around in the archives and found where someone had posted
something that seems to show that Advent had to be post-D&D.  It's in:

In summary, someone who was one of the original players of ADVENT says
that Will Crowther came up with the idea after playing D&D for a few
months.  There's a pointer to an FTP site with an interactive-fiction
archive where the full article can be found.  Clicking directly on the
pointer didn't work for me, but I was able to get to the file by going
to the top of the FTP server mentioned and drilling down the path
given.

If this is correct, then ADVENT can't be from 1967.
